An Island Vacation Like No Other 

A vacation in an island gives you the perfect opportunity of a pleasant get-away from the hustles and bustles of city life. Please don’t think that going for a trip in an island necessarily means landing up amidst a no-man’s land.

There are many exotic and picturesque islands like Cape Cod, or Mackinac Island which are inhabited enough for you to relax and get rejuvenated physically and mentally.

In my opinion there is something very enchanting and mesmerizing about island vacations which sets it apart from any other trips you may take. Indeed, living in a piece of land encircled by water helps you to let loose all your worries of life and makes you forget everything temporarily.

You would feel relaxed and rejuvenated in a way that you could never contemplate before. Even if the island is not too far from your home you would surely feel far, far away from your home just because of the huge water body that surrounds you. The spellbinding magnificence of the backdrop makes you feel that all your earthly troubles are gradually washing away from your mind.

The more inhabited and far-off or secluded an island is; it is better for me as it offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the isolation and get revitalized. I like visiting such islands which are not even well connected with the mainland. I take a lot of pleasure in backwoods camping. Though Mackinac Island is quite good yet I love going to Isle Royale.

I guess I enjoy island vacations all the more because it brings back my childhood fantasies. Like any other child I was a great fan of Robinson Crusoe and other similar stories of adventure and dreamt of finding myself ship wrecked in some distant, uninhabited island.

When I find myself in a desolate place on one of my island trip I feel closest to my childhood dream. Far away from the madding crowd and pollution of city life, with no vehicles for miles around, you feel one with Mother Nature as man had been in the primitive age.

Now it is not that all vacation islands are so desolate and barren. There are some islands which are more to the liking of people who would prefer to live luxuriously. One of my friends loves to go for an island vacation package that blends the best of both.

One year he had indulged in a truly lavish vacation with hundred other friends renting a luxury island resort all together. They said it was the greatest vacation they had ever had. At the same time I had also been enjoying my own solitary vacation only 200 miles away, camping out on my own in a wild and deserted island. It appears that we all had a blast that year in the form of island vacation.
